Cheryl Studer (シェリル・ステューダー)。アメリカの女性オペラ歌手。1955年10月24日生まれ。
ドラマチックなレパートリーから、リリックソプラノやコロラトゥーラソプラノ、晩年はメゾソプラノといった一般的な役柄まで、80以上の役をこなしている。特にリヒャルト・シュトラウスやリヒャルト・ワーグナーの作品の解釈で知られている。ミシガン州ミッドランドで、カール・W・スチューダーとエリザベス（スミス）・スチューダーの間に3人兄弟の一人として生まれた。幼少期はピアノとヴィオラを学び、12歳から地元のオペラ歌手であり声楽家でもあるグウェンドリン・パイクに師事。ハーバート・ヘリー・ドー高校を経て、インターローヘン芸術アカデミーに編入。高校卒業後、オベリン音楽院に入学したが、1年で退学し、家族でテネシー州に移住した。1977年のハイ・フィデリティ／ミュージカル・アメリカ賞、1978年のメトロポリタン・オペラ・ナショナル・カウンシル・オーディションなど、この間にいくつかの賞やコンクールを受賞。1981年、ヴォルフガング・サヴァリッシュによってバイエルン国立歌劇場の正団員として採用され、2シーズン連続で同劇団に在籍し、主に脇役を歌った。バイエルン国立歌劇場では、カール・マリア・フォン・ウェーバーの『オイリアンテ』のタイトルロールや『マウゼンハ』などの主役を務めている。1990年にはメトロポリタンオペラで、モーツァルトの『ドン・ジョヴァンニ』のドンナ・アンナ役、ウィーン国立歌劇場でワーグナーの『ローエングリン』のエルザ役を歌った。1991年には、モーツァルトの『イドメネオ』のエレットラ役とヴェルディの『椿姫』のヴィオレッタ役を歌った。2008年11月には、ドイツでオランダ人ピアニストのフレッド・オルデンブルグと、シューマン、ブラームス、マーラー、リヒャルト・シュトラウスの歌曲によるリサイタルを行った。2009年8月には、ドイツのベルリンで、短期間のベルリン国際音楽祭の一環としてリヒャルト・ワーグナーのウェーゼンリンク歌曲を歌った。2016年10月、ダニエル・バレンボイム指揮、ベルリン国立歌劇場で故パトリス・シェロー演出のリヒャルト・シュトラウスの『エレクトラ』で監督者／コンフィダント（Die Vertraute/Die Aufseherin）を歌った。2016年12月にはスイスのバーゼル劇場でロジャース＆ハマースタインのミュージカル『カルーセル』でネッティ・ファウラー役を歌い、2017年4月まで上演された。2018年9月、シュトゥーダーはオーストリアのオペラ・グラーツでピエトロ・マスカーニのオペラ『カヴァレリア・ルスティカーナ』の新演出でマンマ・ルチア役のコントラルトを歌い、この公演はOehms Classicsレーベルから録音・発売された。2021年11月、シュトゥットガルト州立歌劇場において、現代音楽の専門家ベルンハルト・コンタルスキー指揮、テノール歌手ゲルハルト・シーゲルがタイトルロールを演じる、パウル・デッサウ／ベルトルト・ブレヒトの1951年のオペラ『ルクルスの咎』で、テルチュア役を担当した。
