Christine Schafer (クリスティーネ・シェーファー)。ドイツの女性オペラ歌手。1965年3月3日生まれ。
ソプラノ歌手。フランクフルトに生まれる。1984年から1991年までベルリン芸術大学で学び、Ingrid Figur、Aribert Reimann、Dietrich Fischer-Dieskauに師事した。また、Arleen AugerとSena Jurinacのマスタークラスを受講した。1992年に卒業し、インスブルックのオペラハウスで歌い始めた。1993年、サンフランシスコで『ばらの騎士』のソフィーを歌い、アメリカでのデビューを果たした。1995年、ザルツブルク音楽祭でベルクの「ルル」のタイトルロールを歌い、大喝采を浴びた。この役は、後にメトロポリタン歌劇場とグラインドボーンで歌うことになる。その他の主なオペラ役としては、ドロットニングホルム宮殿劇場のアルシーナ、ガルニエ宮のミヒャエル・ハネケ演出による『ドン・ジョヴァンニ』のドンナ・アンナ、コベントガーデンの2000年BBC演出『リゴレット』のジルダがある。2007年6月、ガルニエ宮で行われたクリストフ・マルターラーの新演出『椿姫』では、アルフレード役のヨナス・カウフマンとともにヴィオレッタを演じた[1]。[2008 年、ローズ・シアターでシューベルトの『ヴィンター・レーゼ』を上演し、ピアニストのエリック・シャイダーと共演した 。2014年晩夏、私的な理由で2014/15シーズンにサバティカルを取ることを発表した。2015年5月、サバティカルを無期限に延長することが発表された。2011/12よりハンス・アイスラー音楽大学ベルリンで客員教授を務める。2015/16年冬学期より、同校の歌唱科教授となる。レパートリーには、いくつかのバロック・オペラ、バッハのカンタータ、そしてコンスタンツェ（Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail）、ケルビーノ（The Marriage of Figaro）、パミーナ（The Magic Flute）、セルヴィリア（La clemenza di Tito）といったモーツァルトの大役の数々があります。また、ピエール・ブーレーズの指揮で録音した『ピエロ・リュネール』や『プリ・セロン・プリ』のような現代曲も歌っている。その他、1997年にグラモフォン誌のソロ・ヴォーカル賞を受賞したロベルト・シューマンのリート、シューベルトのリート（「冬の旅」など）、アーネスト・ショーソンやクロード・ドビュッシーの歌曲などを録音している。また、モーツァルトのアリアとリヒャルト・シュトラウスの歌曲を収録したリサイタル・プログラム（1998年、クラウディオ・アバド指揮）、ヘンデルの『アルチーナ』のアリア（2009年、ライナー・クスマウル指揮）を録音している。
