Pierre Monteux (ピエール・モントゥー)。フランスの男性指揮者。1875年4月4日生まれ。1964年7月1日没。
パリ生まれ。ヴァイオリンとヴィオラを学んだあと、1895年、20歳の時に初めて指揮者としての肩書で活動を始め、1907年頃より指揮者として本格的に活躍し始めた。指揮のテクニックは指揮者のアルトゥル・ニキシュを参考にしたといわれる。1917年から1919年の間にニューヨークのメトロポリタン・オペラでフランスの曲の首席指揮者を皮切りに、ボストン交響楽団、ロイヤル・コンセルトヘボウ管弦楽団 、パリ交響楽団、サンフランシスコ交響楽団で指揮者を務めた。教育活動にも熱心で教え子の指揮者には、ネヴィル・マリナー、ロリン・マゼール、小澤征爾、アンドレ・プレヴィン、ダヴィド・ツィンマンなど錚々たる指揮者がいる。
