Alexander Shelley (アレクサンダー・シェリー)。イギリスの男性指揮者。1979年10月8日生まれ。
父親は著名なピアニスト/指揮者のハワード・シェリー、母親はピアニストのヒラリー・マクナマラ。母親からピアノを、祖母からチェロを習った。 1992年、Westminster Schoolに入学。英国王立音楽院でティモシー・ヒュー、スティーブン・ドーン、デュッセルドルフのロベルト・シューマン音楽院でヨハネス・ゴリッツキにチェロを師事。ムスティスラフ・ロストロポーヴィッチ、ヤーノシュ・シュタルケル、アルド・パリソットのマスタークラスを受講。2003年のヴァレリー・ゲルギエフとのツアーでは、「ワールド・オーケストラ・フォー・ピース」のメンバーとして参加。デュッセルドルフでトーマス・ガブリッシュに指揮を学び、ヤン＝パスカル・トルテリエのアシスタント・コンダクターとして、特に英国ナショナル・ユース・オーケストラと共演した。2005年のリーズ指揮者コンクールで満場一致で優勝。2016年にエコー音楽賞を受賞。2009年から2017年までニュルンベルク交響楽団の首席指揮者を務めた他、また、ドイツ・カンマーフィルハーモニー・ブレーメンの「エコー」とドイツ・グリューンダープレイスを受賞した「Zukunftslabor」の芸術監督も務めている。現在、オタワのナショナル・アーツ・センター・オーケストラの音楽監督、2015年よりロイヤル・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団の首席副指揮者を務めている。
