James Levine (ジェームズ・レヴァイン)。アメリカの男性指揮者。1943年6月23日生まれ。2021年3月9日没。
オハイオ州のシンシナティ生まれ。幼いころよりピアノを始め、1954年、10歳の時、シンシナティ交響楽団の若手のコンサートでメンデルスゾーンのピアノ協奏曲を演奏してデビュー。1956年にはマルボロ音楽学校でルドルフ・ゼルキンに師事。1957年にはアスペン音楽学校でロジーナ・レヴィーンにピアノを師事。1961年にジュリアード音楽院に入学し、ジャン・モレルに指揮を師事した。1964年から1965年にかけてクリーブランド管弦楽団でジョージ・セルに弟子入りした。1970年には、フィラデルフィア管弦楽団で客員指揮者としてデビューした。1976年から2016年までメトロポリタン・オペラの音楽監督を務めた。シカゴ郊外で開催されるラヴィニア音楽祭、ミュンヘン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ボストン交響楽団を率いたことでも有名。
