ロサンゼルス生まれ。ポーランド国営放送交響楽団の芸術監督を務めている。ロサンゼルス・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団でズービン・メータのもとで副指揮者を務めた。ヒューストン交響楽団、モンテカルロ・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、エルサレム交響楽団、バルセロナ交響楽団の音楽監督を歴任。
