Julia Kent (ジュリア・ケント)。カナダの女性チェリスト。
バンクーバー出身。ニューヨークを拠点にチェリスト、作曲家として活動している。チェロ、ファウンドサウンド、エレクトロニクスを用いて音楽を制作している。2007年にImportant Recordsから初のソロアルバム『Delay』をリリース。 2010年にEP『Last Day in July』を、2011年にTin Angelから2枚目のフルアルバム『Green and Grey』をリリース。2013年、The Leaf Labelに移籍し、3月に3枚目のソロアルバム『Character』、2015年10月30日にThe Leaf Labelよりアルバム『Asperities』をリリースした。彼女の作曲した「Dorval」は2008年の映画『Trinidad』とNational Public Radioの『Radiolab』のエピソードで使用された。2011年、彼女の作曲した『Delay』の「Gardermoen」がパオロ・ソレンティーノ監督の映画『This Must Be the Place』で使用されている。カナダのドキュメンタリー映画『The Boxing Girls of Kabul』、短編映画『Birthplace』『A Short History of Decay』、セビリアヨーロッパ映画祭2015で最優秀短編映画を受賞した『Oasis』に音楽を提供している。イタリアのカンパニーBalletto Civileの作品など、演劇やダンスのための音楽も作曲・演奏している。ソロアーティストとして、バルセロナのPrimavera Sound、ロンドンのMeltdown Festival、ハンブルグのReeperbahn Festival、ベルリンのCTM festivalニューヨークのHudsonの24-Hour Drone、ニューヨークのUnsound festivalに出演している。
