Lynn Harrell (リン・ハレル)。アメリカの男性チェリスト。1944年1月30日生まれ。2020年4月27日没。
アメリカを代表するチェリスト。マンハッタンにバリトンの父と、ヴァイオリニストの母のもとに生まれる。父親はハレルはが15歳の時ガンで、母親は18歳の時交通事故で無くなった。9歳からチェロを始める。デントン高校で学んだあと、ニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院でレオナルド・ローズに、フィラデルフィアのカーティス音楽院でオーナンド・コールに師事。1961年、17歳の時カーネギーホールでニューヨークフィルと共演してデビュー。1962年にチャイコフスキー国際コンクールに出場。母親が亡くなってから、父親を知っていた指揮者のジョージ・セルの計らいでクリーブランド管弦楽団に入団、1964年から1971年まで首席チェリストを務めた。ソリスト、室内楽演奏家として活躍する中で、後進の指導に積極的に携わった。シンシナティ大学コンサーヴァトリー・オブ・ミュージック学部、王立音楽院、リーブランド音楽大学、ジュリアード音楽院、南カリフォルニア大学ソーントン音楽学校などでチェロを教えた。1975年にアヴェリー・フィッシャー賞、1982年と1988年にグラミー賞を受賞した。
