Matt Haimovitz (マット・ハイモヴィッツ)。アメリカの男性チェリスト。1970年12月3日生まれ。
イスラエル生まれ。妻は作曲家のルナ・パール・ウールフ。5歳のときアメリカのカリフォルニア州パロアルトに移住。7歳よりチェロを始める。9歳の時からハンガリーのチェリストのガボー・レジュト（Gabor Rejto）に師事。12歳の時にヴァイオリニストのイツァーク・パールマンに見いだされ、パールマンは、ハイモヴィッツをチェリストのレオナルド・ローズに紹介した。ジュリアード音楽院でレオナルド・ローズに師事。1985年にズービン・メータ指揮のイスラエル・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と共演し注目を集めた。1987年にドイツ・グラモフォンと契約。1996年にハーバード大学を卒業後、ドイツ・グラモフォンとの契約を打ち切り、クラシック以外のレパートリーに取り組んだ。2002年にはバッハのチェロ作品を、伝統的なクラシックの演奏会場ではなく。ナイトクラブやレストランで演奏するという試みを行った。録音では、ドイツ・グラモフォン契約時代のサン＝サーンス、ハイドン、バッハ、モーツァルトのチェロ協奏曲の録音や、2013年のデニス・ラッセル・デイヴィス指揮のシンシナティ交響楽団とともにフィリップ・グラスのチェロ協奏曲第2番の録音をリリースしている。ピリオド楽器でベートーヴェンのチェロソナタの録音もリリースしている。クラシックにとどまらず、ジャズのチェロ演奏の録音もリリースしている。
