Colin Carr (コリン・カー)

Colin Carr (コリン・カー)。イギリスの男性チェリスト。1957年10月25日生まれ。
チェロ・ソリスト、室内楽奏者、レコーディング・アーティスト、指導者として活躍。リバプール出身。5歳からチェロの演奏を始め、モーリス・ジェンドロンに師事した。また、ユーディ・メニューイン・スクールにも通った。ボストンのニューイングランド音楽院で16年間教え、その後、英国王立音楽院のチェロの教授に就任した。また、ニューヨーク州立大学ストーニーブルック校にも所属している。ナウムブルク・コンクール第1位、グレゴール・ピアティゴルスキー記念賞、ロストロポーヴィチ国際チェロ・コンクール第2位、ヤング・コンサート・アーティスト・コンクールなど数多くの賞を受賞している。ザラ・ネルソヴァが弾き、現在はスティーブン・イッサーリスが弾いている、英国王立音楽院が所有するストラディヴァリ・チェロ「マルキ・ド・コルベロン」を演奏していたが、現在はマッテオ・ゴフリラー製のヴェネチアン・チェロを演奏している。イギリスのオックスフォード郊外で暮らしている。
