Kathryn Stott (キャスリン・ストット)

Kathryn Stott (キャスリン・ストット)。イギリスの女性ピアニスト。1958年12月10日生まれ。
ランカシャー州のネルソン生まれ。5歳からピアノを始める。ユーディ・メニューイン音楽学校でナディア・ブーランジェ、マルセル・シャンピ、ヴラド・ペルルミュテールに師事。王立音楽大学でケンドール・テイラーに師事。1978年にリーズ国際ピアノコンクールで第5位を受賞。1978年にロンドンデビューし、ヨーロッパ、アジア、アメリカ、オーストラリアで演奏ツアーを行った。フランク・ブリッジ、ジョージ・ロイド、ジョン・アイルランド、ウィリアム・ウォルトンらのイギリスの作曲家の作品の録音で高い評価を受けている。またフランスの作曲家のガブリエル・フォーレのピアノ作品の全曲録音をリリースしている。現代音楽では、マイケル・ナイマンの「The Piano Concerto」の録音や、ピアニストの小川典子とともにグラハム・フィトキン の「サーキット」の録音をリリースしている。チェリストのヨーヨーマとは数多く共演し、タンゴ作品の録音「Soul of the Tango」(1999年)、「Obrigado Brazil」(2004年)でグラミー賞を受賞している。ヴァイオリニストのナイジェル・ケネディやチェリストのトルルス・モルクとも共演している。英国王立音楽院、チータム音楽学校でピアノを教えている。
