ピアニスト
Lucille Chung (ルシール・チャン)。カナダの女性ピアニスト。
カナダのモントリオール生まれ。10歳でシャルル・デュトワ指揮のモントリオール交響楽団と共演してデビュー。カーティス音楽院、ジュリアード音楽院でピアノを学ぶ。渡欧して、ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム大学、ワイマール・フランツリスト音楽大学、イタリアのイモラ国際ピアノアカデミー、キジアーナ音楽院でピアノの更なる研鑽を積んだ。1989年にストラヴィンスキー国際ピアノコンクールで第1位、1992年のモントリオール国際ピアノコンクールで第2位および、未発表作品の最高演奏賞を受賞。1994年にワイマールで開催された第1回フランツ・リスト国際コンクールで第2位を受賞。1999年には、Canada Council for the Artsからヴァージニア・パーカー賞を授与されている。これまでにフィラデルフィア管弦楽団、モスクワ・ヴィルトゥオージ、ウェールズBBC国立交響楽団、フレミッシュ 放送管弦楽団、イスラエル室内管弦楽団、ダラス交響楽団、ニュージャージー交響楽団、ソウル・フィルハーモニー、KBS管弦楽団などと共演。指揮者では、クシシュトフ・ペンデレツキ、ウラディーミル・スピヴァコフ、ヴァシリー・ペトレンコ、ヤニック・ネゼ＝セガン、ピーター・ウンジャン、ゲルト・アルブレヒト、シャルル・デュトワらと共演している。夫でピアニストのアレッシオ・バックスとピアノデュオを結成して精力的に活動している。現在はニューヨーク在住。
