作曲家としても活躍。1961年から1966年までモスクワ音楽院でゲンリフ・ネイガウス、レフ・ナウモフに師事。1962年の第2回チャイコフスキー国際ピアノコンクール第6位、1966年の第2回リーズ国際ピアノコンクール第3位。
