ピアニスト
Christian Zacharias (クリスティアン・ツァハリアス)。ドイツの男性ピアニスト。1950年4月27日生まれ。
インドのジャムシェドプルで生まれる。パリでイリーヌ・スラヴィン(Irene Slavin)とヴラド・ペルルミュテール(Vlado Perlemuter)にピアノを師事。1969年のジュネーブコンクールと1973年のヴァンクライバーンコンクールの両方で第2位を受賞。1975年にパリで開催されたラヴェル・コンクールで優勝した後、国際的なキャリアをスタート。アルバン・ベルク四重奏団、グァルネリ四重奏団、ライプツィヒ弦楽四重奏団、指揮者のハインリヒ・シフ、ヴァイオリニストのフランク・ペーター・ツィンマーマンら共演してきた。録音も数多く行い、ドメニコ・スカルラッティによる33のソナタ、シューベルトのピアノソナタの全曲、モーツァルトピアノ協奏曲の全曲、ベートーヴェンのピアノ協奏曲の全曲(1979年)の録音がある。1992年にジュネーブのスイス・ロマンド管弦楽団で指揮を始め、2000年にロサンゼルス・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団を指揮して、アメリカデビューを果たした。2000年より、ローザンヌ室内管弦楽団の芸術監督、2002年より、ゴーセンバーグ交響楽団の首席客員指揮者、2009年より、セントポール室内管弦楽団の芸術パートナーを務めている。
