Harold Bauer (ハロルド・バウアー)。イギリスの男性ピアニスト。1873年4月28日生まれ。1951年3月12日没。
イギリスのキングストン・アポン・テムズで、ドイツ人ヴァイオリニストの父と、イギリス人の母の下に生まれる。父親とハンガリーのユダヤ人ヴァイオリニストのアドルフ・ポリッツァーからヴァイオリンを学んだ。1883年にロンドンでヴァイオリニストとしてデビュー。1892年よりパリでイグナツィ・パデレフスキの下でピアノを学び始めた。1893年にパリでピアニストとして、ディーリアスの「ヴァイオリンソナタロ短調」をヴァイオリニストのアチル・リヴァー（Achille Rivarde）と初演した。ピアニストとしてフランス、ドイツ、スペインでコンサートを行って高い評価を受け、オランダ、ベルギー、スイス、イングランド、スカンジナビア、そしてアメリカでも演奏ツアーを行うようになった。1900年、ボストン交響楽団と共演してブラームスのピアノ協奏曲第1番ニ短調の初演を行い、アメリカでデビュー。1908年12月18日、パリのクロード・ドビュッシーのピアノ組曲「子供の領分」の世界初演を行った。その後、アメリカに定住し、ベートーヴェン協会の創設者の1人として活躍した。1915年から1929年にかけて、ピアノ製造会社のデュオ=アートとアンピコのピアノのために100曲以上を録音した。教師、編集者としても活躍し、マンハッタン音楽学校のピアノ科で教鞭をとっていた。1941年から、マイアミ大学で冬のマスタークラスを教え、1946年から亡くなる1951年までハートフォード大学ハートフォード音楽学校で客員教授を務めた。教え子にはローランデ・マクスウェル・ヤング(Rolande Maxwell Young)、ロバート・シュレード(Robert Schrade)らがいる。
