ピアニスト
Jerome Rose (ジェローム・ローズ)。アメリカの男性ピアニスト。1938年8月12日生まれ。
「現代最後のロマン派」と称されるアメリカを代表するピアニスト、ピアノ教育者。ロサンゼルスの生まれ。15才の頃からアドルフ・バラーに師事。マネス音楽大学、ジュリアード音楽院でピアノを学んだ。マールボロ音楽学校でレオナルド・シュレ(Leonard Shure)、ルドルフ・ゼルキンに師事。1961年のフェルッチョ・ブゾーニ国際ピアノコンクールで第1位を受賞。20代前半から国際的な演奏キャリアを積んだ。ベルリン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ミュンヘン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ウィーン交響楽団などと共演し、ロンドンでもロンドン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ロンドン交響楽団などと共演した。ゲオルク・ショルティ、ヴォルフガング・サヴァリッシュ、チャールズ・マッケラス、スタニスワフ・スクロヴァチェフスキ、セルジュ・コミッショーナ、ダヴィド・ツィンマン、ハンス・フォンク、ロバート・スパーノ、クリスティアン・ティーレマンらと共演。25歳からボウリンググリーン州立大学でピアノを教え始め、モスクワ音楽院、ワルシャワのショパン・アカデミー、ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム大学でマスタークラスを開講していた。現在は、マネス音楽大学でピアノを教えている。ミネソタ国際ピアノコンクール、浜松国際ピアノコンクール、ショパン国際ピアノコンクール、フランツ・リスト国際ピアノコンクールなど多くのコンクールで審査員を務めた。
