Naum Shtarkman (ナウム・シュタルクマン)

Naum Shtarkman (ナウム・シュタルクマン)。ウクライナの男性ピアニスト。1927年9月28日生まれ。2006年7月19日没。
11歳の時メンデルスゾーンのピアノ協奏曲を演奏してオーケストラデビュー。1944年よりモスクワ音楽院でコンスタンチン・イグームノフに師事。1948年にイグームノフは亡くなったが、シュタルクマンは他の教師からピアノを習うことを拒み、公式なメンターなしで1949年にモスクワ音楽院を卒業した(スヴャトスラフ・リヒテルからは非公式にピアノのレッスンを受けていた)。1955年に開催された第5回ショパン国際ピアノコンクールで第5位を受賞。1957年のヴィアナ・ダ・モッタ国際ピアノコンクールで第1位、1958年の第1回チャイコフスキー国際音楽コンクールで第3位を受賞。長年にわたって演奏活動はソ連内に制限されていた。ソ連で同性愛の罪で逮捕され演奏活動の中断を余儀なくされた。1969年からグネーシン音楽学校でピアノを教え、1987年の1年だけモスクワ音楽院でピアノの教授を務めていた。
