Vikingur Olafsson (ヴィキングル・オラフソン)
ピアニスト
Vikingur Olafsson (ヴィキングル・オラフソン)。アイスランドの男性ピアニスト。1984年生まれ。
レイキャビクで育ち、ピアノ教師である母親の指導のもと、幼い頃からピアノを弾き始めた。ニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院で学び、ジェローム・ローウェンタールとロバート・マクドナルドの指導のもと、学士号と修士号を取得した。また、アン・シャインのレッスンも受けている。2011年、ヴィキングールはレイキャビクのハルパのオープニングコンサートのソリストとして、ウラディミール・アシュケナージ指揮のアイスランド交響楽団とグリーグのピアノ協奏曲を演奏した。2019-20シーズン、ジョン・アダムスの『Must the Devil Have All the Good Tunes?』を、ラジオ・フランス・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団とフランスで初演し、オランダ・ラジオ・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団ともアダムスの指揮で演奏した。ベルリン・コンツェルトハウスのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加し、アデス、ロベルト・シューマン、ダニエール・ビャルナソン、モーツァルトの協奏曲、2つのソロ・リサイタル、マルティン・フレストやフロリアン・ボーシュとの室内楽プログラムなど、11のプロジェクトで14回の公演を行った。スノリ・シグフス・ビルギソン、ダニエール・ビャルナソン、ハウクル・トマッソン、フィヨルズル・マグヌソンを含むアイスランドの作曲家による6つのピアノ協奏曲のほか、アトリ・インゴルフソン、マーク・シンプソン、マーク＝アンソニー・ターネージのソロおよび室内楽作品を初演している。フィリップ・グラス(レイキャビク、ヨーテボリ、、ロンドン)やビョークとの共同演奏にも参加している。2020年にドビュッシー、ラモーの作品を収録したアルバムをリリースしている。
