Cynthia Phelps (シンシア・フェルプス)。アメリカの女性ヴィオリスト。1961年生まれ。
4歳からヴァイオリンを始め、11歳でヴィオラに転向。南カリフォルニア大学ソーントン音楽学校でヴィオラを学び、1978年に学士号を取得。サンタバーバラのMusic Academy of the Westのプログラムに1978年と1983年に参加。1984年にミシガン大学で修士号を取得。1984年のライオネル・ターティス国際ヴィオラ・コンクールで第1位を受賞。ワシントン国際弦楽コンクールでも優勝。ニューヨークフィルの首席ヴィオリストを務める。マネス音楽学校、マンハッタン音楽学校、ジュリアード音楽院で教員としてヴィオラを教えている。ソリストとしてミネソタ管弦楽団、ニューヨーク・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、サンディエゴ交響楽団、香港フィルハーモニー管弦楽団などと共演。室内楽では、アイザック・スターン、イツァーク・パールマン、ピンカス・ズーカーマン、ヨーヨー・マ、リン・ハレル、イエフィム・ブロンフマンらと共演。ズーカーマンとその友人のアンサンブルとして、パリ、ローマ、ロンドン、ボストン、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、ワシントンなど各地で演奏活動を行っている。夫はチェロ奏者のロナルド・トーマス。
