Kala Ramnath (カーラ・ラムナート)。インドの女性ヴァイオリニスト。1967年5月29日生まれ。
インドの古典派ヴァイオリニスト。音楽家の系譜であるMewati gharanaに属している。2016年にSangeet Natak Academy Puraskaar、2008年にRashtriya Kumar Gandharva Sanman、1999年にPandit Jasraj Gaurav Puraskarを受賞。インド、チェンナイでヴァイオリニストのT.N.クリシュナンやN.ラジャムを含む一家に生まれた。2歳半のとき、祖父のナラヤン・イヤーのもとでヴァイオリンと声楽の訓練を受け、一族の7代目のヴァイオリニストとしてキャリアを開始した。14歳のとき、叔母からコンサートを開いてもらい、演奏を始めた。インドのすべての主要な音楽祭に加え、シドニー・オペラハウス、ロンドンのクイーン・エリザベス・ホール、ニューヨークのカーネギーホールなど、世界中の最も権威あるステージで演奏している。西洋クラシック、ジャズ、フラメンコ、アフリカ伝統音楽の要素を取り入れ、世界中の様々なジャンルの著名なアーティストと音楽的な提携を結んでいる。ロンドン交響楽団やロンドン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団などのオーケストラとの共演や実験に参加した。また、カイ・エクハート、エドガー・メイヤー、ベラ・フレック、テリー・ボジオ、アボス・コシモフ、アイルト・モレイラ、ジョバンニ・イダルゴ、ロックバンド「ドアーズ」のレイ・マンザレクなどのミュージシャンとも共演している。「Raga Afrika」、「Global Conversation」、そして最近では「Elements」などのバンドを仲間のワールドミュージック・アーティストとともに立ち上げた。また、カラ・ラムナートはハリウッド映画のバックグラウンド・スコアにも携わっており、中でもブラッド・ダイヤモンドでは、ジェームズ・ニュートン・ハワードやジョージ・アコニーといった作曲家たちと共演している。オランダのロッテルダム音楽院、ドイツのギーセン大学、ニューヨークのカーネギーホールと提携したヴァイル・インスティテュートなど、世界各地で定期的に講演やワークショップを開催している。音楽を通じて恵まれない子どもたちや病気の子どもたちの生活を豊かにするために、「Kalashree」という財団を設立した。2021年7月24日、インド古典音楽をビデオで記録するウェブサイトを立ち上げ、インド古典音楽の最も信頼できるリソースを作成することを目指して活動している。
