David Garrett (デイヴィッド・ギャレット)。ドイツの男性ヴァイオリニスト。1980年9月4日生まれ。
ドイツのアーヘン生まれ。4歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。7歳のときリューベック音楽アカデミーでヴァイオリンの研鑽を積む。キッシンジャー・サマーフェスティバルでデビュー。12歳までイダ・ヘンデルについて学んでいた。1997年、17歳の時、英国王立音楽大学、1999年にジュリアード音楽院でヴァイオリンの研鑽を積んだ。ジュリアード音楽院では、イツァーク・パールマンに師事。1995年、13歳の時にクラウディオ・アバドと共演してモーツァルトのヴァイオリン協奏曲をリリースしてレコーディングデビュー。2007年にリリースした「Free」からクラシッククロスオーバーの曲の録音が中心となる。マイケルジャクソンの「Smooth Criminal」やパイレーツ・オブ・カリビアンのテーマ曲などの演奏で一気に世界中の注目を集めた。ロックなどもふんだんに取り入れたステージで人々を魅了している。またパガニーニの半生を描いた映画「 The Devil's Violinist」では自らパガニーニ役を演じ、その素晴らしい演奏を映画内でも披露している。
