Louis Krasner (ルイス・クラスナー)
ヴァイオリニスト
Louis Krasner (ルイス・クラスナー)。ウクライナの男性ヴァイオリニスト。1903年6月21日生まれ。1995年5月4日没。
現在のウクライナのチェルカースィ生まれ。5歳でアメリカにわたり、1922年にニューイングランド音楽院を卒業。パリでリュシアン・カペー、チェコのピーセクでオタカール・シェフチーク、ベルリンでカールフレッシュに師事した。1936年4月にヘルマン・シェルヘン指揮のパブロ・カザルス管弦楽団とともに、アルバン・ベルグのヴァイオリン協奏曲の世界初演を行った。1940年12月には、レオポルド・ストコフスキー指揮のフィラデルフィア管弦楽団とともにショーンベルグのヴァイオリン協奏曲の世界初演も行っている。他にもアメリカの作曲家ロジャー・セッションズ、ヘンリー・コーウェル、ロイ・ハリスらの作品の初演を行っている。ソロ活動を引退し、1944年から1947年にかけてミネアポリス交響楽団のコンサートマスターとして活動を始めた。1949年から1972年にかけてシラキュース大学で教授を務めた。1976年にはニューイングランド音楽院で教員を務めた。ストラスヴァリウスの作成したギターを所持していたことでも知られる。
