David Aaron Carpenter (デイヴィッド・アーロン・カーペンター)。アメリカの男性ヴィオリスト。1986年生まれ。
ニューヨーク州グレートネック出身。音楽家の兄妹の家に生まれ、6歳の時にスズキメソッドでヴァイオリンを学び始めた。12歳でヴィオラを学び始め、16歳の時にはヴィオラをメインとするようになった。ジュリアード音楽院、マンハッタン音楽院のプレカレッジ部門、イタリアのアカデミア・キジアナ、スイスの国際音楽アカデミー、ヴェルビエ音楽祭アカデミーで、ピンチャス・ズーカーマン、ロベルト・ディアス、小澤征爾、ロバート・マン、今井信子、ボリス・ベルキン、ユーリ・バシュメットに師事した。2003年以降、カーペンターはアメリカやヨーロッパの一流音楽家やオーケストラと共演を重ねている。2005年フィラデルフィア管弦楽団ヤング・アーティスト・コンクールの第1位受賞者として、クリストフ・エッシェンバッハ指揮フィラデルフィア管弦楽団とウォルトン・ヴィオラ協奏曲を共演した。米国ではカーネギーホールやケネディセンターでリサイタルデビューを果たしている。ドイツではドレスデン・シュターツカペレとシュニトケのヴィオラ協奏曲を演奏しデビュー。2008年、スイスのルツェルン交響楽団とベンジャミン・ユスポフの「ヴィオラ、タンゴ、ロック・コンチェルト」を演奏するため、マキシム・ヴェンゲーロフの代役として参加した。米国では、エイヴリー・フィッシャー・ホール、シカゴのクラナート・センター、サンフランシスコのハーブスト・シアターなどで演奏している。9月には、クリストフ・エッシェンバッハ指揮フィルハーモニア管弦楽団とエルガー・チェロ協奏曲（ライオネル・ターティス編／カーペンター）のヴィオラ版とシュニトケ・ヴィオラ協奏曲でオンディーンレーベルから録音をリリースした。エマニュエル・アックス、サラ・チャン、レオニダス・カヴァコス、ソル・ガベッタ、ジュリアン・ラクリン、ドミトリー・シトコヴェスキー、ジャン＝イヴ・ティボーデ、ユジャ・ワンとリサイタルや室内楽で共演し、シュレスヴィヒ・ホルシュタイン音楽祭とヴェルビエ音楽祭で定期的に演奏している。2016年4月、ワーナー・クラシックスからヴィオラ編曲によるヴィヴァルディとピアソラ、そしてアレクセイショールがサロメオーケストラのために特別に作曲した新作Four Seasons of Manhattanなど、12の季節をテーマにしたプログラムを収録したソロ・デビュー・アルバムをリリースした。
