Scott Slapin (スコット・スラピン)。アメリカの男性ヴィオリスト。1974年5月18日生まれ。
18歳でマンハッタン音楽院を卒業し、エマニュエル・ヴァルディに師事した。ヴァルディを偲んで、パガニーニの奇想曲のいくつかを引用したヴィオラ三重奏曲「奇想曲」を作曲している。2008年プリムローズ国際ヴィオラコンクールの課題曲の作曲や、第1回モーリス・ガードナー作曲コンクールの委員を務めたほか、第38回国際ヴィオラ会議において受賞作『レイチェル・マシューズの夢』を共同初演した。18歳の時、ニューヨークで上演されたジェラルド・バスビーの室内オペラ『オルフェウス・イン・ラブ』にソロ・ヴィオリストとして出演し、カーネギーのワイルホールでバスビーの『ミューズ・フォー・ソロ・ヴィオラ』を初演したほか、アメリカ、南米で数多くのソロリサイタルやアンサンブルと共演。ペンシルバニア州立ヴィオラ・アンサンブルやウィスタリア弦楽四重奏団のために多くの作品を作曲し、カリフォルニアのモンタルヴォ芸術センターのフェローでも務めた。ジェラルド・バスビー、ロバート・コバート、リチャード・レーン、レイチェル・マシューズ、パトリック・ネハー、フランク・プロト、デヴィッド・リメリスらのデュオを初演・録音している。これまでにウィスタリア弦楽四重奏団、ペン州立ヴィオラアンサンブル、アメリカンヴィオラカルテット、スラピン-ソロモンヴィオラデュオによる録音がある。バッハのソナタとパルティータ（元はヴァイオリンのための）の全曲をヴィオラで録音した最初の人物であり、2006年に再録音された。20世紀と21世紀のヴィオラを使ったリサイタル作品を多数初演・録音しており、アメリカン・ヴィオラ協会が制作した最初のアルバムでは、ソリストとして登場している。2008年に録音した『パガニーニの24の奇想曲』は、1965年のエマニュエル・ヴァルディ以来、パガニーニの24の奇想曲が標準調弦のヴィオラで録音された初めての作品となった。スラピンとソロモンは交響曲の最も有名な作品の一部をヴィオラデュオ用に移し、2017年にそのうちのワーグナーの「ワルキューレの騎行」、チャイコフスキーの「1812年序曲」、ロッシーニの「セビリアの理髪師」序曲、そしてベートーヴェンの交響曲第5番全4楽章の無伴奏版を前例のない2台のヴィオラによる録音を行なった。
